You pasted a BitChute link, pressed Download, and nothing useful happened. Maybe you got an error, maybe the file will not play, or maybe you cannot find where it went. This guide walks through the problems people run into most often when saving BitChute videos, and how to fix each one.

The steps are written for the free BitChute video downloader on Savedfast, but most of them apply to any downloader. If you are new to this, start with our basic guide on how to download BitChute videos.

Only download videos you made or have permission to keep. There is a short note on that at the end.

Quick checklist

Before anything else, try these four things. They solve most problems:

  1. Make sure you copied the link to one video, not a channel or search page.
  2. Open the link in a private or incognito window and check the video plays there.
  3. Reload the Savedfast page and paste the link again.
  4. Try a different browser, such as Chrome instead of Safari.

If none of those help, find your problem below.

Problem 1: “We couldn’t get a video from this link”

This message means the tool could not find a video at that address. The usual causes are:

  • The link is incomplete. Messaging apps sometimes cut links short. Open the link in a browser, let the page load, and copy the full address from the address bar.
  • It is not a video link. A good link has /video/ or /embed/ followed by a code of letters and numbers. Channel and search links will not work. See our guide to finding the right BitChute video link.
  • The video was removed or made private. If you cannot watch it in a private window, it cannot be downloaded.
  • The video is blocked in some countries. BitChute can restrict some videos by location. If it does not play for you on BitChute, a downloader will not get it either.

Problem 2: The page keeps loading and nothing appears

Give it up to 30 seconds. Longer videos can take a little more time to look up. If nothing appears:

  1. Check your internet connection by opening another website.
  2. Reload the page and try once more.
  3. Turn off any ad blocker or privacy add-on for savedfast.com, then try again. Some of these block the button from working.

If BitChute itself is slow or down at that moment, wait a while and try later.

Problem 3: The Download button opens the video instead of saving it

Some browsers, especially on computers, play an MP4 in a new tab instead of saving it. That is normal. To save it:

  • On a computer: right-click the playing video and choose Save video as. Pick a folder and click Save.
  • On Android: tap the three-dot menu in the player or browser and choose Download.
  • On iPhone: tap the share icon and choose Save to Files, or look for a download icon in Safari’s address bar.

Problem 4: I can’t find the downloaded file

Downloads go to your browser’s default folder:

  • iPhone: open the Files app, tap Browse, then Downloads.
  • Android: open the Files or My Files app and look in Downloads.
  • Windows: open File Explorer and click Downloads, or press Ctrl+J in your browser to see recent downloads.
  • Mac: open Finder and click Downloads.

For moving the video into your phone’s photo gallery, see our guide on saving BitChute videos to your phone’s gallery.

Problem 5: The video looks blurry

In our tests, BitChute served its videos at 480p, and that is what the Savedfast tool shows in the Quality column. 480p looks fine on a phone but can look soft on a large TV or monitor. No downloader can add detail that is not in the original file, so a sharper copy is not available from BitChute. Be wary of any site that promises “HD” or “4K” BitChute downloads.

Problem 6: The file will not play

The tool saves a standard MP4 file, which plays on almost every phone and computer. If yours will not open:

  • The download may not have finished. Check the file size. A file of only a few kilobytes is probably incomplete. Delete it and download again.
  • Try a different player. On a computer, the free VLC media player opens nearly any video file.
  • Check the file name ends in .mp4. If it does not, rename it so it does.

Problem 7: There is no sound

First check that your device is not muted and the volume is up. Then play the original video on BitChute. If it has no sound there either, the download will not have sound. If the original has sound and your copy does not, download it again, as the file may be incomplete.

Problem 8: It works on my computer but not my phone

Phones sometimes handle downloads differently. Update your browser app, then try Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone. Make sure you have enough free storage space, since a full phone can stop a download without much warning.

FAQ

Is there a limit on how many videos I can download?

The tool saves one video at a time. Paste each link separately.

Can I download a whole BitChute channel at once?

No. Savedfast saves single videos only.

Why did a link that worked yesterday stop working today?

The creator may have removed the video, or BitChute may have changed something on its side. Check that the video still plays on BitChute.

Can I get the audio only, as an MP3?

Not with our tool. It saves the video as an MP4. Many phones and computers can play an MP4 in the background like audio.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The tool works in your web browser on phones and computers.

A note on permission

Fixing a download does not change who owns the video. Only download videos you made, videos the creator allows people to download, or videos you have permission to keep. Do not re-upload other people’s work as your own.
