How to make fancy text for Instagram bios and TikTok names

Instagram and TikTok do not let you install a new font in your bio or name. What people call “fancy fonts” are just special Unicode characters. They look like bold, script, or boxed letters. You type normal text, copy a style, and paste it.

How it works (plain version)

You type “hello.” The page shows rows like bold, italic, script, and boxed. Each row is still text, not a photo. You copy one row and paste it into a bio, name, or comment.

Some devices and apps show every style. Some replace unknown characters with empty boxes. Always check the preview on your own phone before you save a name change.

Instagram bio

  1. 1. Open Instagram fancy text or the main generator.
  2. 2. Type your bio line. Keep it short. Instagram bios have a tight character limit, and fancy characters can count as more than one.
  3. 3. Copy the style that still looks clear at small size. Script looks nice in a headline and muddy in a 5-line bio.
  4. 4. Open Instagram → Edit profile → Bio. Paste. Save.
  5. 5. Look at your profile as a visitor would. If you see empty squares, pick a simpler style (bold or italic Unicode usually survives).

Names on Instagram are stricter than bios. If a style will not save, the app is blocking those characters. Use a plainer row.

TikTok name

  1. 1. Open the TikTok fonts generator.
  2. 2. Type the name or a short word you want under your @handle.
  3. 3. Copy a style that is easy to read in the TikTok UI. Heavy outline fonts get cut off.
  4. 4. Open TikTok → Profile → Edit profile → Name. Paste. Save.
  5. 5. Your username (@handle) is not the same as your display name. Handles are usually plain letters and numbers. Fancy text belongs in the display name or bio, not the @.

A few practical rules

  • Readable beats decorative. If people cannot search or mention you, the font failed.
  • Do not paste a whole paragraph of fancy text. One line is enough.
  • Screen readers and some search boxes choke on Unicode fonts. Keep your real name in normal letters somewhere.
  • Emoji plus fancy text eats the bio limit fast.

Facebook and X

Same copy-paste flow on the Facebook and Twitter pages. Profile names and posts accept many Unicode styles. Pages and ads are pickier.
