You found a great recipe or DIY video on Pinterest, but there is no download button. Saving a pin to a board only keeps it inside Pinterest. If the pin is deleted, or you are offline, the video is gone.
This guide shows you how to save the actual video file on an iPhone, an Android phone, or a computer. It uses Savedfast’s free Pinterest video downloader, which runs in your browser with no app or account.
Only download videos you made, or videos you have permission to keep. More on that at the end.
How the tool works
The Savedfast Pinterest page has one box that says Paste a video URL, a Paste button, and a Download button.
When you paste a pin link and tap Download, the page shows a small table with Quality, Size, and a Download button for each file it found. For a video pin, you will usually see a JPG row (the cover picture) and an MP4 row with a quality label such as 1080p. Pick the MP4 row for the video.
Step 1: Copy the pin link
In the Pinterest app (iPhone or Android)
- Open the video pin.
- Tap the share icon or the three dots (⋯), depending on your app version.
- Tap Copy link.
The app often copies a short link that starts with pin.it/. That is normal, and these usually work. If one does not, open it in your browser, let the pin load, and copy the full address instead.
In a browser (PC, Mac, or phone)
- Open the pin on pinterest.com.
- Click the address bar at the top.
- Copy the full address. It looks like
pinterest.com/pin/followed by a long number.
Step 2: Paste and download
On iPhone
- Open Safari and go to the Pinterest video downloader.
- Tap Paste, or long-press the box and tap Paste.
- Tap Download, wait a few seconds, then tap Download on the MP4 row.
- If Safari asks, confirm the download.
On Android
- Open Chrome and go to the same page.
- Paste the link and tap Download.
- Tap Download on the MP4 row and watch for the download notification.
On a PC or Mac
- Open the tool in any browser and paste the link (Ctrl+V, or Cmd+V on a Mac).
- Click Download, then Download on the MP4 row.
Where the video ends up
- iPhone: Safari downloads go to the Files app, in the Downloads folder. To move the video into Photos, open it in Files, tap the share icon, and tap Save Video.
- Android: It goes to the Downloads folder. Most gallery apps show it in a Downloads album, or check the Files app.
- PC or Mac: It goes to your browser’s download folder, usually Downloads.
If a video opens and starts playing in a new tab instead of saving, use the browser’s download or share option on that tab to save it.
Why some pins are images, not videos
Sometimes the table only shows a JPG and no MP4. That usually means one of these things:
- The pin is a photo. If the pin has no play button or timer in Pinterest, it is a still image.
- The video is from YouTube. Some pins say “Embedded YouTube video.” The video lives on YouTube, not Pinterest, so a Pinterest downloader can only get the cover picture. Open the original video on YouTube instead.
- It is a GIF. Animated GIF pins are a different format. Try the Pinterest GIF downloader for those.
Troubleshooting
“Please enter a valid URL.” The box did not get a full link. Copy the link again from Pinterest, and make sure it starts with https://.
“No media found” or an error message. The pin may be private, removed, or from a secret board. Only public pins work.
Nothing happens when you tap Download. Turn off a strict ad blocker or tracker blocker for that tab, or try another browser.
Keep your saved videos safe
Phones get lost, replaced, or reset. If you save a lot of pins for projects, it helps to back up the videos and your board ideas to a cloud folder, such as pCloud, so you can reach them from your phone or computer.

Respect creators and copyright
Pinterest videos belong to the people who made them. Saving a clip for personal reference is very different from reposting it.
- Do not re-upload someone else’s video as your own.
- Ask the creator before you reuse a clip in your own content.
- Give credit and link back when you share ideas.
- Follow Pinterest’s terms and the copyright rules where you live.
