Lots of people search for a way to download a Facebook video “without a watermark”. Here is the honest answer: it depends on where the logo came from.
Facebook does not usually stamp a logo on the videos people upload to it. If you see a moving name or logo on a Facebook video, it was almost always put there by another app before the video was posted. No downloader can take that logo off, because it is part of the picture itself.
This guide shows how to tell the two cases apart and save the cleanest copy with the free Facebook video downloader on Savedfast. For every other method, see our longer post, the best way to download Facebook videos.
Only download videos you made or have permission to keep.
Does your video really have a watermark?
A video with no watermark looks the same as the original upload. This is common for clips filmed on a phone and posted straight to Facebook, and for videos from official pages.
A video with a watermark shows a logo or username that is part of the picture. You will often see it:
- Bouncing between corners (typical of re-uploaded TikToks).
- Sitting in a fixed corner with a handle, like an
@username. - Appearing as a short logo clip at the start or end.
If the logo is in the picture, it was added by another app or editor. A Reel or clip that was first posted on TikTok, Instagram, or a video editing app, and then re-uploaded to Facebook, often looks like this.
What Savedfast does and does not do
Savedfast saves the video file that Facebook has for that post. It does not add its own logo, and it does not remove anyone else’s.
In our test, we saved an official Facebook page video. The page offered two MP4 files: a standard-quality file of about 1.1 MB, and an HD file of about 5.1 MB. The HD file opened as a 1280 by 720 video, about 74 seconds long, and the frame we checked had no logo on it.
That is what a clean download looks like: the same picture you see on Facebook, saved as a file. It cannot remove a watermark that was already in the video.
Step 1: Copy the Facebook video link
In the Facebook app
- Open the video or Reel.
- Tap Share.
- Tap Copy link.
In a browser on a phone or computer
- Open the video.
- Copy the address from the address bar.
The video must be public. Facebook links that worked in our test had /videos/ or /watch/?v= in them.
Step 2: Paste, download, and choose the file
- Open the Facebook video downloader.
- Tap Paste a video URL, paste the link, and tap Download.
- Wait a few seconds for the table of files, with Quality, Size, and a Download button for each.
- Choose the HD row if there is one. Choose the smaller row if you want a quick, small file.
- Tap Download. A short page counts down a few seconds, then the MP4 saves.
On iPhone, the file goes to Files > Downloads. Open it, tap the share icon, then Save Video to add it to Photos. On Android and PC, look in Downloads.
If the video has someone else’s logo
You cannot fix this with a downloader, but you can still end up with a cleaner copy.
- Find the original. If the logo is from TikTok or Instagram, look for the original post. Our guides to the TikTok downloader and the Instagram Reels downloader can help you save from the source.
- Ask the creator. Many creators will send the original file if you ask politely.
Please do not crop or cover another person’s watermark and post the video as yours.
If the video is your own
If you made the video and the watermark came from an app you used, the best fix is to export it again from your original project file. If you only need a shorter clip, a desktop editor can cut it. For example, Movavi has a program called Movavi Video Editor. Its page lists cutting and cropping among its tools.

If you get an error
Not every public Facebook video downloaded in our tests. Some returned an error even though they played fine in Facebook. You may see “We couldn’t get a video from this link.” Try these steps:
- Copy the link again from the Share menu.
- Make sure the video is public, not in a private group or limited to friends.
- Use the full address from a browser instead of a short link.
- Wait a minute and try again.
Keep your saved videos backed up
If you keep family clips or your own work, a cloud folder helps you move big videos off your phone. pCloud is one option.

Copyright and permission
Facebook videos belong to the people who made them. Saving one to watch later is not the same as posting it again.
- Save your own videos, or videos you have permission to keep.
- Ask first if you want to reuse a clip, and follow Facebook’s terms and local copyright laws.
FAQ
Can I remove a watermark from a Facebook video?
No. Savedfast saves the video as it is. If a logo is part of the picture, it will still be there in the download.
Why does my Facebook video have a TikTok logo?
Someone saved it from TikTok and posted it to Facebook. The logo is in the file. Look for the original on TikTok.
Which quality should I choose?
Choose HD if it is listed. It will not look sharper than the original upload.
Can I download Facebook Reels the same way?
Paste a public Reel’s link the same way. A Reel that was first made in another app may carry that app’s logo.
Short version
Facebook itself usually does not add a watermark. A logo you see was added by another app before the upload, and no downloader can remove it. Copy the link, paste it on the Savedfast Facebook page, choose HD, and save the MP4. If you want a cleaner copy, find the original post.
